I own a white General Electric coffeemaker (model 169165), and I absolutely love it! My husband bought it for me for Christmas last year. It can makes twelve 5-ounce cups of coffee. I was using a Proctor Silex 43501, but the new one is so much better, I put it in a cabinet and haven't thought of it since.
The Proctor Silex was a very basic coffeemaker, with just an on-off switch, but the General Electric has tons of options and a pretty blue digital readout. (Not to mention the coffee from the new one tastes better due to the built-in water filter!) My favorite thing about this model is the permanent coffee filter. Instead of going through hundreds of disposable paper filters a year, I empty mine, wash it, and put it back in the coffeemaker. Not only is it economical, but it's good for the environment, too!
Another great feature on this coffeemaker (as I mentioned before) is the charcoal water filter, located in the water reservoir . It cleans your water as it is brewing, making the coffee taste great. This coffeemaker also has an automatic cleaning cycle. Just fill the coffee maker up with vinegar or cleaner and push a button. After the cleaning cycle finishes, repeat with clean water.
Other features on the GE 169165 are a timer (for the mornings you want coffee waiting for you when you roll out of bed), an automatic shut-off (in case you rush out the door and forget to turn it off), a "time since brew" display (which I'm not sure anyone really needs, but it's nice to look at), and a 1-4 cup brew selector (which I haven't used and still don't know exactly what it does).
Overall, I love this coffeemaker, and the coffee that it makes tastes amazing!
