Very disappointed with my Keurig!

by Julie
(Cleveland , Oh)

I too am having the problem of not enough water filtering through the k-cup into my mug. I have the Keurig coffee machine on the largest setting and no way am I getting enough coffee to fill a travel size mug. This started about a month ago and I have cleaned it out with water and white vinegar and that didn't help at all. This machine was so expensive and I loved it, but now I am very disappointed!

B60 and Travel Mugs
by: Anonymous

I called Keurig and for the B60 model the largest cup setting is 10oz. So a travel mug would not fill to the very top probably. Travel mugs are at least 12oz or more.

Enough Already

So what is the problem with this machine? For $149 plus I expect the machine to last longer than 2 months. Ours just shut down this morning. We have been using the white vinegar and paper clip the pins regularly. Sometimes it just freezes up and won't pump water. How about testing your stuff at the factory and not expect the consumer to test it for you!!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED !!!!!!

Water comes out fine when no cup is installed... I have cleaned out the "pin" that punctures the cup... we have done the vinegar thing... still doesnt give the proper amount of coffe... not worth the money.

good customer service
by: Anonymous in Cleveland

If you call their customer service number, I think you may find they will have some helpful directions for you on going beyond the whine vinegar cleaning. We use tap water and apparently minerals can clog up the machine so a monthly "cleaning" is recommended. It involves a paperclip and clearing out a couple places. Their customer service is VERY good - 2 other people I know had equally as good service - and they replaced my dad's machine twice when they couldn't help him out.

Slow brewing
by: Anonymous

I have a similar problem. My Keurig worked great at first. It would brew a large cup very fast. After a few weeks of use it now slows down to a tricke half way through the brewing process.

unhappy

Have the one with the reservoir (Special Edition?) about 2 months and this past week it now makes half a cup when the large size button is pressed. This means I have to add water to the cup and then microwave it to get the proper temp coffee. Too expensive a machine to have to do this. I ran about 15 tests (no cofee, just water), and it gave the the proper amount of water only ONCE. This thing has only been used at most, 3 or 4 times a week since new, we filter all of our water (whole-house filter), and our city water is considered "soft" and has a perfectly neutral alkalinity, so I know it's not a water quality and/or a scaling issue. I will contact Keurig on Monday, but I'm seeing a LOT of these same reports. Research before you make a buying decision! Dear Kourig: Get this matter fixed permanently before your reputation is trashed. Ever hear of this thing called "The Internet"? Word gets around REAL FAST, and bad news travels even faster.

Don't buy a Keurig
by: Anonymous

I paid 14.99 for the unit to use your own coffee in the Keurig. I tried all the settings but to get a normal coffee strength you can only brew the small or teacup size. I also tried the K-cups and it was worse, teacup only to get a normal strength. It also takes a long time to use it and clean it. If I want a normal mug of coffee I have to brew the first small cup, clean out the grounds of the special attachment, fill it up again and brew another small cup. It takes about 15 minutes to clean and refill and brew to get one mug of coffee. If you use the K-cups it still takes about 10 minutes and you have to use 2 K-cups to get a mug. If you use any other setting on the unit it is just flavored water. I also tried using tea and it doesn't taste right at all since the water never gets to actual boiling level for the tea, it just doesn't have the flavor of boiling or using the microwave to super heat the water. I am extremely disappointed and I don't recommend anyone to buy a Keurig.

bad water pumps too!
by: Anonymous

I got my Keurig for Christmas, and a week later the pump couldn't pump the water so it turned off. The company gladly sent me another one but it does the same thing. I have to keep taking the water resevour off until it takes hold to do what it is suppose to do. I am still waiting for the shipping lable for the first one (I was suppose to get two weeks ago). Now what do I do. I do love this machine! I just wish they would get the bugs out before they sell any more.

Same Problem

I have had my Kuerig B60 for about a month. Everything was fine up until a couple of weeks ago. Now as in previous post I push the largest setting and get the smallest. Has anyone found a solution to this?
