Saeco Incanto Sirius Super-Automatic Espresso Machine

by Daniel
(California, USA )

My coffee machine is a Saeco Incanto Sirius super-automatic espresso machine.

I originally purchased this machine because I am a coffee and espresso lover and this machine makes it very easy to make either. I have tired other espresso machines but the effort involved to grind the beans, measure out the coffee, tamp the coffee, brew it, and then clean up was excessive.

With the Saeco Incanto Sirius I just drop the beans in the top press a few buttons to select size, coffee strength, and brew pressure and in a 2-3 minutes I have a customized cup of coffee. It was this simplicity plus the Saeco brand name that led me to buy this machine.

I’ve owned the machine for about 2 years now and have had absolutely no problems with it. In terms of coffee cup limit, I haven’t reached it yet and we have a similar machine at work that operates almost all day.

The only issue with this machine is the excessive work required to do a full cleaning of it. Although infrequent (once every 3 months or so) a full cleaning takes about an hour to run decalcification, clean internal components, and to reassemble.

Given that day to day maintenance is minimal though I probably spend less cumulative time servicing this machine than I did my previous drip brewer. Given that this machine makes much better coffee it is well worth the effort.

I’d also like an option to attach the machine directly to my water source so as to not have to refill the water container. This is my first high end coffee machine and is in every way superior to my previous GE except for from a cost perspective. This machine spoils me and I don’t think I can ever go back to a plain old drip brewer.

So far so good...

Bought on Ebay for less than $500. They said barely used. It arrived with over 600 small medium & large runs log into it. That's Not bad compared to 4000. Can't locate info on when to descale. The entry before this one mentioned every three months. I use filtered water and am the only one using it so does the three month go by usage or time? When brewing the steam nozzel drips, is that normal? There is a local Saeco service company so may take it to them if need be.

So far so good, I love this machine!
