Problems! Problems! - Keurig coffee makers

We have now had three Keurig coffee makers and this last one is not working, either. They worked anywhere from three weeks to one month and then started brewing half a cup or nothing at all. I was hesitant to call them again but after reading some other reviews I guess I'm not the only one with problems. The company was prompt in replacing the first two. I do like the coffee when it works but so far it has not been reliable.

descale problems NEW
by: mommom39

I have descaled this numerous times it still won't work like it should. I also bought 2 of my 6 children Keurig machines - I hope they have better luck than I have. I loved it when it worked but am frusterated now.

Going back to what works.
by: MJF

Read through all the comments, and compared them to my problems. Keurig better get their act together or they will be the Edsel of the coffee makers. I guess I will just go back to my old but dependable coffee maker.

not working
by: sherry

I got my pot for christmas 2011. It work great for about two weeks. Then this morning it would not dispense the coffee-just dripped a few drips and stopped. Going to return it and try another one. It seems that this is a common problem with Keurig and will have the same problem with a new one.

coffee grounds, spewing water, half a cup of coffee...where's my old cheap Mr. Coffee?
by: Anonymous

Same song and dance here folks. I received my Keurig coffeemaker as a Christmas gift and initially it worked great. I cannot afford to buy the k-cups that are prefilled so I purchased the reusable k-cup. Worked for awhile, then my descale light came on. I followed the instructions on cleaning it but to my dismay now not only is the descale light still on but I have more grounds in my coffee than the little brewing cup and I get maybe half a cup of coffee. I am going back to good old inexpensive Mr. Coffee.

B77 problems
by: Anonymous

I have had a B77 model for about 9 months. I have descaled it twice. I use reverse osmosis water in it. We also have a water softener before the reverse osmosis filter. I is inconsistent in the cup volume. It is displaying the descale message. I tried three attempts to descale it. The message won't go away. When it brews a cup the brewing message stays on for 30 to 60 seconds after the water stops flowing. I can hear a motor running while the brewing message is on. No water is flowing into the cup or back into the reservoir. I called the customer service number. They led me through some trouble shooting and then said it is not working properly. They are sending me a new coffee maker. They said the D77 is no longer being made and they are sending a newer model. I am extremely happy with Keurig's service.

Frustrated
by: Anonymous

I recieved the small Keurig coffee maker as a gift from my sons.I read and re-read the instruction manual...so excited to have my first cup of coffee from my new coffee maker. I did everything the manual said...no coffee. My college educated son read the manual, and tried again...still no coffee in my cup! I boxed it up and returned it JC Penney where it was purchased. They exchanged it no problem. I anxiously opened the "new" one. It worked the first time no problem...I was excited to finally have my cup of coffee. The next morning, I set it up and waited for my coffee...nothing happened. I turned it off, and started over again...still no coffee. It has been several months, and it works one day, then not the next day. So completely frustrated!

I've had 2, last one being the platinum one, lasted about 10mos. Talked with customer service and they want to sell me one at a discount, "for my inconvienence". Of course, I just ordered 2 cases of coffee so kinda stuck.

Mine works fine.
by: Kirk

I'm confused what to do. Mine is 3 years old (B-60 spec ed.)
It is loud when the pump is drawing water, But thats my only
complaint. I use it 3 times aday 5 days a week. And it's
still great. I was going to get another one for down stairs,
now i'm afraid to get another one.

About to order my 4th Keurig
by: Anonymous

I have the platinum series Keurig coffee maker. Although it is very annoying that these pots do not last a year (6 months at best) if frequently used, I don't see why the complaints as the company will send you a new coffee maker at no cost at all to you. I happen to love the way it makes coffee. I will admit that it is frustrating, however, I always have ground coffee on hand and my trusty old Faberware electric pot which will quickly give me a good cup of coffee in no time when the Keurig breaks down. Lighten up people, when Keurig will send a brand new one for free!

More Problems!
by: Anonymous

This sounds familiar, my third one just quit as well. Company has been good about replacing defective machines but this is getting to be a tiring. I went out a bought a Cuisinard to enjoy my K-cups in.

Keurig
by: Anonymous

We own two Keurigs. I descale our home machine every 3-4 months and use a Brita pitcher for water. Ours stopped working, I call the 800 Keurig number and within four days they had shipped a Keurig (newer model than we had) to us. It is working great and I am going to use distilled water from now onw. I have to stay the customer service rep., was great.

Very unhappy
by: B

I am SO disappointed with his machine. FIrst, pieces of plastic from under the top broke off. Then it wouldn't turn on. Left it unplugged for a week. Plugged it back in & it worked for 1 day. It's going in the garbage! Have a Cuisinart drip coffee maker that has lasted 7 yrs without a problem and it was only half the price. I would not recommend this coffee maker to anyone!

Quit working
by: Charlene

My daughter got me a Keurig Elite for Christmass 2010. I had to buy larger cups as the ones I had were too small to hold all the coffee. After a month it started making only half cups. Now it will not work at all. The worse part is----I liked it so well I bought another one for my camper (at the cost of $150.00) after reading the reviews I don't think it will last much longer as it also started making just half cups. When it goes I will go back to my Mr. Coffer that I have had for years and never had any trouble with it. I will not buy another Keurig they are to expensive to have to replace every few months.Plus the K cups are not cheap.I would not advise anyone to buy a Keurig.

Worst thing for the money
by: Q

I'm on my 3rd in about a year and am going to try some other machine. No matter how good you take care of them and clean them they all will give out and quit on you. These are the worst thing on the market for the money. You would think after all this they would recall or fix the problem. Apparently they just don't care.

coffee makers

My fourth coffee maker went in the garbage last night after 3 mos of use. This time a water sensor I was told. My fifth is on the way.... I always register my brewer on the Keurig site and they have been great in replacing.. I will say that.. even in one case where one lasted a little over a year. I do buy my k cups from them also. I am at odds now. I am going to use the new one to finish up my k cup supply but then what..? I like this brewer because of all the coffee choices, also tea and hot chocolate. Any suggestions for another that may do it all and function without issues....

piece of junk
by: joel kelly

I have had two keurig makers. The first one only lasted a few weeks and started making half cups of coffee. I returned it and got another one and it has only lasted about 1 1/2 years and now will not work at all. I would not recommend these to anyone and they are surely not worth what you have to pay. How do you contact the company. I want them to know how SORRY their product is.

junk
by: courtney

I had two of the single cup personal machines
each lasted for 2 days. I contacted Keurig and they said to send it in with pre-paid postage
and would either fix or replace within 30 days.
Thank goodness I bought these at KOHLS returned with no questions asked.

Buy the Coffee Bean brand personal brewer less
expensive, better coffee and it works

Not worth the Money
by: Anonymous

On our 2nd in 1-1/2 yrs. First one stopped brewing full cup. Called and was sent new one. This one is now leaking water all over the counter - big mess. It also only brews 1/2 cup most of the time. Would NOT recommend for the money - you're better off making coffee the old- fashioned way and throwing out most of it!

4th one quit working
by: Anonymous

I have purchased at least seven of these for faimly and friends. However the one I have has been replaced three times and it has quit again! About a week ago lights started blinking then it would shut off. The exact same thing that happened to the previous ones. I have had an electrician replace the outlet but other things have always worked in the outlet! After it blinking and shutting off for about a week now it doesn't turn on at all. The company has always been good about replacing it, they all stopped working within the year, but I don't know if they will replace again. So frustrating yet I love the machine.

Problematic Coffee Brewer
by: Fred

After sampling coffee from freinds Keurig Brewer I enjoyed the coffee so much that I made a purchase myself. The first couple of months went well enjoying the convenience and the coffee with only occassional short cups ! As time went on I found that it was more presistant with the short cups and rapidly becoming annoying ! I was not only wasting the coffee but was unable to enjoy a full cup with breakfast or other meals. After roughly six months I searched the Keurig website and found their trouble shooting tips and proceeded to follow everyone even replacing the fitler and washing out the basket after every use ! Sometimes I would get lucky and receive a full cup which kept me encouraged and kept me trying ! Finially it started getting completely eratic with the control settings ! ( I have the Programable Elite Model with the clock and brew settings in the lighted console ! ) Finally it has completely ceased to work at all not even lighting up or brewing a cup of anything and I have gone back to a ten cup drip maker and put this Keurig on the shelf and considered it a bad investment ! Still I did love the coffee and would like to use up the K-Cups I have but I am unwilling to make another investment for fear of encountering the same problems again ! I would like to return it to Keurig but haven't found an address to mail it to ! if anyone has found this information and would be willing to share it with me it would be greatly appreciated ! My e-mail is: oscar@frontiernet.net
Unfortunately I haave exceeded the 90 day return policy at Sam's Club where I purchased this product and was directed to their website to pursue advice on how to deal with my now completely disfunctional Keurig Brewer !
I would like to be able to give favorable comments on this Brewer but I have not had a good experience with this purchase ! Sorry !

A Concerned Consumer ! ( Fred )

The worst coffee maker ever.
by: bluedove

I myself went through four units before I threw in the towel. I went back to my old coffee maker.
I am not the only one. I know many people having problems with these makers. The wisper technology is quiet but no good. This beats all the last one they sent me DID NOT WORK OUT OF THE BOX!!!! They said they would send another. In the mean time no coffee.

Leaky
by: Cathie

I had my first Kuerig for appx. 3 months. It just stopped working. I took it back to Penney's. I exchanged it for the next larger size and brought it home. The area where the pod goes overfills and leaks all over the place hitting everything but the cup. I took it back thinking it was a individual problem. I used the replacement this morning and after one cup it started doing the same thing. So back to the store I will go today but I don't know if I will get another Kuerig.

Defective product but great warranty!
by: Mark Kristy

I am on my third b-60 Keurig coffee maker in two years. The good news is once you properly register the maker at Keurig.com you have a year of warranty coverage. And if you get a replacement you receive another year of warranty coverage! The longest I have had to wait to receive a replacement through the mail is one week!

Problems with Keurig
by: DSC

These things have too many problems for the money and the cost of cups! Keurig knows it and will not make it right! Mine lasted just long enough for my 30 day warranty to run out! It will not make but a tablespoon or so of coffee and I have descaled according to directions. I wish I had my money back.

Keurig died
by: Anonymous

My Keurig made the best coffee, and after about 1 year it just died,I was turning mine off after I used it, which is better to leave it on or turn it off? It smelled like something burned inside like a wire of some kind, this same thing has happened to 2 other people I know. I contacted the company and they are sending me a new one, I just had to mail them the kcup removeable piece. That is really refreshing I think. Thank you Keurig

On 6th and changing to crusinart.
by: Connie

We have had 6 and are not calling the company again. You would think that they would fix the problem. After about 3-6 months they start brewing half cups. We drink 1 cup each in the morning and occasionally a decaf at night so the convience is great. My boss has a crusinart and he has had no problem and neither has another manager where I work. We are going to try one of those. We are done with Keurig.

blinking lights
by: Rita

We love our Keurig, but resently we are having a problem with it not working, we've had it for 2 1/2 years. The 2 outside lights keep bleaking, and the menu keeps coming on. We have tried to unplug it, and that does not work, we've pushed the menu button, we've tried everything just not working. Is anyone else having this problem? I like to suggest to peple also to use filtered water or distilled we have always used filtered water and have never had a cloged line or build up.

Unimpressed
by: Anonymous

Glad to see that I am not the only one who is unimpressed with the quality of this brewer. This is our second - the first lasted 10 months and this one is 7 months old. The current brewer meters the water (grinding noises); heats and tells you it is ready. When you push the button again it meters water (grinding again)- re-heats again and then proceeds to give you half a cup of coffee, We have cleaned the brewer three weekends in a row and the last time for four hours to make sure it was clean with no better results. I love the idea behind the brewer. Too bad they didn't put any thought into the quality prior to selling to the public.

Problems with brewing
by: Brad cole

It worked fine for about 6 mos. and then started making some grinding noises and brewing smaller and smaller cups. We did all the cleaning the mfr. suggested but now when it doesn't even make a noise I have to hit it on top and the water/coffee starts to come out. Very frustrating. Not real impressed with the quality of the product. Love the idea and the coffee itself but it needs to be more reliable.

Keurig coffee making issues
by: Anonymous

My coffee maker surprised me when it just quit. I had previously contacted Keurig about this issue after I tried the vinegar flush. It worked for a while, but this morning, the same issue. I did some investigation on my own after flushing again with the vinegar. Believe it or not, I found that the filter was my main culprit. I added it after flushing and the same problem occurred. I removed the filter and the coffee maker worked. I then added the base filter unit without the charcoal filter, and with a little hesitation, but then cooperation, I received the correct amount of product. Go figure!

by: Anonymous

i found out if you take the resivor off and empty the water, test the valve on the tank to see if its free and then blow air where the resivor sets up through the coffee maker you can use a straw to do it. make sure its clear .It works for me .You get the air bubbles out of the line.FILLS YOUR CUP.

It Works
by: Anonymous

I bought a Keurig coffee maker a number of years ago and have never had a problem. It was not a very well known product at the time and could only get K-cups on the internet. I have since bought 8 others as gifts for various weddings, house warmings and birthdays. All have worked with the exception of one machine. It was replaced.

The fact that I can brew one or two cups of coffee and not a whole pot would make me buy another machine when and if the old one stops.

If you are having a problem with the brew basket , soak it in vinegar or CLR, rinse it and try again. I can be replaced for a few dollars.

unusable reusable K-cup
by: Mary

The reusable K-cup has never worked. It spews extra water and coffee grounds in and around my cup. In addition, when I went to "how to fix," I was turned over to an "expert" who asked for a deposit along with my charge card number. It was written that if I was not satisfied, I would be reimbursed. I am so sorry that the person who gave me this expensive gift did not get his money's worth. I resent that I could not get in touch with a representative of the company.
