Philips Senseo HD7810

Philips came out with a pod-type coffee maker in 2006 that intrigued me. I purchased the first model: a Senseo HD7810 in black (the only color available at the time.)
It was the latest and greatest and making more than one or two cups of coffee in my household was too much. This unit makes up to two average cups of wonderful coffee and it is a perfect amount for my morning ritual without putting me over the top on caffeine consumption.
Other coffee makers I owned (electric, percolator, and manual drip) all fell short for me. To make a decent cup it required making more coffee than I really needed. Reheating coffee is not a preferred way to drink it – at least not for me.
This pod coffee maker is perfect. It is also fast. I can drop in a pod, place the cup and walk away. The water reservoir is easy to keep filled – I use bottled water to keep the scale from building up.
In fact, there was a recent recall because of scale residue build-up and luckily, my maker fell outside the production dates. I would hate to give up my most precious kitchen appliance.
There are now several very lovely flavored pods available for the Senseo. I scrounge for coupons everywhere as well as shop online.
Quite often good buys for pods are found on Amazon.com. I would highly recommend this coffee maker to anyone in need of a smaller dose of coffee or coffee on demand.
