Mr Coffee TF4 Coffee Maker

by Chris

About five months ago, I bought the "Mr. Coffee" coffee maker TF4 model. I think it’s reliable and, very easy to use.

The size of the coffee maker is what I most like best about it. It can make up to four cups of coffee at a time, so it's a small unit. Only takes up a portion of counter spacing.

Takes normal sized filters, which, when I bought the unit it came with about a months worth of them. It’s a very light weight unit, so it’s easy to move around and place where you want. It’s about a foot tall so it can fit into any tight spaces.

There's no need for a manual; just plug it, put your filter in the filter spot, add the amount of water, and then turn it on. Brews four cups in less than twenty minutes, about ten minutes of you make another pot.

Only downside I didn't like about this unit is that it doesn't have a self timer to automatically make the coffee. Also sometimes when removing the pot from the unit, coffee might spill over the spout. My old coffee unit was better, but I wanted to downgrade in size and also reduce my coffee consumption.

My coffee maker is a Mister Coffee Four Cup personal coffee maker TF4. It is of course capable of making four cups at a time which is ideal for me as I am the only coffee drinker in the house.

What I like best about it is how quickly it brews the coffee and how easy it is to clean. A little white vinegar and water and all the hard water deposits are gone.

I bought this particular model because I have owned Mister Coffee brewers in the past and have found them to be far superior to the Black and Decker models my husband purchased for me as gifts. I have owned this particular unit for over two years now and it functions as if it were brand new out of the box and I use it at least twice a day. It has more than paid for itself as the unit brand new I bought at Meijer for about $20 plus the cost of the filters and the fresh coffee! I have had no problems with this model, and that is a blessing in and of itself.

There is nothing worse than waking up and going to make a pot of coffee first thing in the morning only to find that your coffee maker has failed, and that is something this model has never done.

With the Black and Decker model I owned before this one, I had it less than a year and it leaked all over the counter more than once but I couldn't afford to replace it and of course the warranty expired before this happened. It was the second Black and Decker coffee maker I had owned which had malfunctioned and I will never buy one again.

The Mister Coffee that I own now was not only cheaper it has been perfectly reliable, and I would purchase one again when this one finally wears out.

Mr. Coffee TF4 Coffee Machine

by Anne
(Wisconsin, USA)

My coffee maker is a Mr. Coffee Model #TF4. It is white, with a clear carafe that makes 4 cups.

We have been very happy with this coffee maker since we bought it 3 years ago. This is the first coffee maker we have owned, so we can’t really compare it to other coffee makers; I just know that I can hardly imagine that fancier, more expensive coffee makers could make a better cup of coffee than this little gem.

What initially attracted us to this coffee maker was its compact size. It fits easily on our counter, without using up space that we need for active food preparation (we don’t have a large kitchen, so this is definitely an issue for us). We also appreciated the price, since we were recently out of grad school.

We have been generally happy with our little Mr. Coffee, with a few minor complaints. Although the carafe is marked to show that it holds 4 cups, I find that when I use regular sized mugs, it will only fill 2 ½-3 of them, so when we have guests, we have to borrow a larger coffee pot from my parents or just make pot after pot after pot and the guests just can’t all drink their coffee at exactly the same time.

Also, although we clean it with vinegar, it has started to slow down. When we first bought our coffee maker, it could produce a full pot of coffee in less than 5 minutes. Now, after 3 years of regular use, it sometimes takes up to 10 minutes. I’m starting to wonder if it’s time to purchase a replacement, but when we do, I think we’ll get the same model, if it’s available, because we’ve been so happy with this one. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a nice cup of coffee without spending a fortune.
