Mr Coffee Programmable Coffee Maker

by Kris
(WA, USA)

I currently own a Mr. Coffee coffee maker. I'm not sure of the model number, but it's programmable, which is a must in my home.

It has another feature I'm very fond of, which is "brew strength" and can be set to strong or regular. I use the strong feature because I like strong coffee.

It came with a permanent filter and a second filter to remove calcium from the water. Supposedly this improves the taste of the coffee but I haven't notice any difference.

This is a 12 cup model, which is perfect for me because both of the coffee drinkers in this household use over sized coffee mugs and a 12 cup pot is 2 cups for each of us.

Our previous coffee maker was only a ten cup and we had to make a second pot of coffee each day, even though most of it went to waste.

The other thing I like a lot about this Mr Coffee is the self cleaning function. I used to run vinegar through my machine once a week to unclog it and clean things out, but with the self cleaning setting I don't have to bother with the stinky vinegar to get the machine nice and clean.

The only feature I don't like is that it turns on with a push button: push once for on, twice for delay brew, and three times for cleaning. You really have to watch youself to make certain you've got the right setting.

Overall, I really like this machine, and the price was right at $30.00 at Costco. Hopefully I will get a few years out of it before I have to replace it.
