Mr. COFFEE coffee pot model AR10 T156SX
Five years ago I purchased a Mr. COFFEE coffee pot model AR10 T156SX, and it has given me absolutely no problems whatsoever.
There is a small gauge along the side that allows for easy measurement of the water from two to ten cups, and it has a simple on/off switch. Our previous pot had a timer and it was impossible to have it set correctly, either the pot would start too early or too late. This way, we always know when it is on. The only problem is when the pot of coffee gets low, then you must be quick to turn it off or the remaining coffee will evaporate and the pot will scortch- causing the pot to become dangerous and a replacement must be purchased or you run the risk of injury.
Now cleaning the coffee maker itself is somewhat of a chore. If you allow the grounds to sit in the basket at the top of the maker for more than a few minutes after the coffee has finished processing through, then you will have a tremendous amount of staining. I purchased a cleaner that works well to remove the stains, however it is a chemical cleaner and you must be sure to rinse the entire unit well to ensure that all of the solution has been removed. I believe that having the extra staining in the basket allows for more bitterness in the subsequent pots of coffee. That is certainly undesireable to me, and even though it is not a problem with the coffee pot or coffee maker it does impact the final product and must be dealt with before it becomes a problem.
