Kitchen Aid KCM055WH2 coffee maker

by Marty
(Colorado, USA)

I love my KitchenAid coffee maker! My wife and I were given a bundle of Kitchen Aid gear for our wedding ten years ago, including a stand mixer, several sets of attachments for the mixer, and a KitchenAid KCM055WH2 coffee maker.

This 4-cup machine has outlasted every other coffee maker I've ever owned. It has a heavy-duty three-prong cord that doesn’t get tangled. It’s white, so it fit with the kitchen in our newlywed rental just as well as is does in the home that we bought a few years later.

Previously I had a Mr. Coffee 4-cup coffee maker. I broke the carafe during cleaning, not once but 3 times. Replacing the carafes over time cost me more than the original purchase. It died one morning during breakfast, part way through brewing.

That was a rough morning. I hit my thumb with a framing hammer at work that day. On the way home I bought a cheap off-brand coffee maker. The water-tank lid broke off within a week. That coffee maker went into the trash as soon as I was finished opening wedding gifts.

I've never broken the KitchenAid carafe, even though I occasionally bonk it on the edge of the sink while performing my morning rituals. This is a tough little coffee maker! I like the rounded top to the water tank, and I prefer the cone-shaped filters.

My wife doesn't drink coffee, so the small 4-cup size coffee maker is perfect for us, and the coffee maker fits nicely under the cabinets. Sometimes I have coffee-drinking friends over, and have to make several pots in a row.

It has never failed even under this heavy workload. This coffee maker has outlasted two coffee grinders and the Kitchen Aid toaster that came with it.
