Keurig Single Brew--Does not brew the whole 8oz.

by Liz
(Broken Arrow, OK)

I purchased the Keurig Mini Model B30 and after eighteen months it only fills up half the cup leaving the other half of the water in the reservoir. I contacted Keurig customer service and was told they did not know what was wrong and could not do anything for me except offer me a new model at a discounted price (the offered price was the same price that I paid for my original model). I declined their offer and vowed never to buy another Keurig.

Suggestion for fixing dimished output on your Keurig
by: slynn79

Don't know if you still have the coffee maker, but I had the same problem with mine, but just found the solution and thought I would pass it on in case it could help you or someone else with the same problem.

My B40 was outputting only 6 oz. for the small and 8 oz. for the large of straight water. The normal output should be 8 oz. for the small and 10 oz. for the large. I had already done the descaling method with no change. I noticed that I had water dripping and sometime flowing out of the "vent" back into the reservoir. Following some advice I found by a user on Fixya.com, I held my finger over the "vent" (white tube at top of reservoir), while I ran a few mugs of water through. I did not let my finger off the tube during or between the cycles, keeping the tube sealed during the entire process. I did notice it took a bit longer to complete one cycle of filling the mug during the process, and after the first two cycles, a bunch of bubbles came up from the bottom of the reservoir. After the bubbles came up, I ran it two more times and successfully got 10 oz. for the large cup! I think that air must have been trapped in the system, and holding the vent tube forced that air out. The advice I found to prevent air from entering the system again, is do not let the reservoir run empty and do not remove it to refill. Instead, use a pitcher to refill. Hope this helps!
