Keurig Pod Machine shuts off - How do I fix this problem?

by Marian Painter
(Melbourne, FL)

The "drop the pod in & push the button" for a cup of coffee is a wonderful thing ... if the Keurig pod coffee machine really worked that way. I turn on the machine & it shuts off. I then take the water container off, put it back on, turn on the machine again ... it shuts off (again). I rub the bottom of the water container, put it back on the machine & turn it on again. If I'm lucky, it'll finally work & give me a cup of coffee. This machine was too expensive to be doing this to me.

How do I fix this problem? Is it the water reservoir or the brewer itself? HELP!!!

look in the port under the tank
by: KMC

Remove the tank, take a flashlight and look into the hole where the water gets sucked into the unit. To my amazement - there was so much deposits sitting on top of the little filter there, that I was surprised I ever got a cup out. I cleaned this with a few q-tips and rinsed it a bit and Viola - works like a charm again.

Keurig B60 Limited Edition
by: Anonymous

LIMITED EDITION IS HOPEFULLY RIGHT!!! All This Machine is good for is a paper weight. Power problems, Contacted Keurig Customer support, waited for a tech for more that 20 minutes, when asked what the problem was he simply gave me the best solution I could have ever gotten, unplu machine and plug back in and make sure you power on! WOW!! I was so surprised on how these techs are trained. Anyway, after providing them with the serial # of the machine they asked me to send the machine to MA. Haven't received replacement back as of today but the again sent was sent on Tue. of last week. Will keep you posted....

Pure Junk
by: bcw

I'm with Brenda. I have two, both received as gifts. There must have been a clearance sale, because both of these worthless machines stopped working property after only a couple of weeks. Amazing. I've read the troubleshooting, took the machines apart, cleared the "pipes", ran vinegar, started using the purest bottled water....All to no avail. Mostly they shut off, but if you're lucky enough to get to the brew point, only the motor runs, and nothing brews. Anything but Keurig. What a scam. DO NOT BUY THESE MACHINES.

Pod coffee

The machine shuts off after making one cup. It does not draw down the water After each cup. Tried everything .Removed the tank, refilled, rinsed, unplugged to reboot. Nothing seems to work. Too much work for one cup of coffee. I went back to my regular brewer.

Me too - it shuts itself Off!!
by: Brenda

I bought this for our office - so that it would be easier for people to grab a cup of coffee without me having to brew everyday.
Big problem - this is the 2nd machine and it too is shutting itself off after making a cup of coffee. Seems the water does not suck into the maching properly and so to avoid overheating it shuts itself off. The company had no suggestions to fix this so I returned the first one and now this one is doing it too!!! Very frustrating as you have to turn it back on, fidget with the water tank, press it down, take it out, put it back in....and then it will suck in the water and make another cup. About ready to toss this and get the Cuisinart. Have that at home and NEVER have a problem.

Customer service
by: Ginnie

I agree with Shel. I had the same problem and contacted Keurig yesterday. The were the epitome in customer service. No questions asked, they shipped me a new one with a confirmation code referencing the conversation. They also gave me instructions on what to do when the new brewer came.
I have nothing but good things to say about the customer service of Keurig.

In Warranty?
by: Shel

Marian, If your Keurig is still within warranty, I would give Keurig a call. They have a very nice customer service dept. More than likely they will send you a brand new machine. The problem you have is pretty much a common one and not much of a fix is available. If not in warranty I would call them any way. Maybe they will give you a discount on another machine. Does not hurt to try.
