Keurig Coffee Makers FIX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is for everyone who has a problem with Keurig coffee makers.

If the system says its not ready, try pulling the empty jug out and pushing it back in (hard) till you hear a click. You might have to attempt this a couple of times. From now on just fill the jug with another cup or pitcher... don't take it out.

The other problem that I know of is the water backing up into the tank and not going into your coffee mug and shuts off (or filling less than expected). For this problem you can get an air can spray (computer store) and spray the piercer nozzle (make sure the system is cold, as to not scald yourself). Or you can use a paper clip to dislodge hardened water in the lines. The water lines for Keurigs are way to small and can get clogged.

My Keurig does great -- until one morning I put in cup, closed lid and it stuck halfway closed. Have cut out cup but handle will not open it or close it. Anyone have suggestions?

I don't belive all you people don't do the one thing you should have done from the start. Only use distilled water in the machine. Never have to worry about clogs in the line.

Same prob, not ready on the screen and shutting itself off after a few minutes. What worked for me was using compressed air to clean out inside the lines, I followed the comment below from Jan 11, 2012 and now it works like new. Had this Keurig (B66) for a few years and seldom use it so glad it works because I wasn't about to replace it.

 Brand New "not Ready" NEW

My wife got a new Keurig K-cup for xmas. We followed the instructions but "not ready" stays on and water never pumps though there is a motor sound. After a few minutes the word prime shows on the display. Tried all the online recommendations, reset, turn upside down to get air bubbles out. Nothing has worked. I Called customer service but not open on xmas. Thought I was buying quality seems like others have had this issue repeatedly. I guess i'll call service tomorrow and hope for the best. Very skeptical though.

 Garbage Coffee Marker NEW

This is my second keurig coffee machine in two years. The first one just up and quit one morning, it didn't heat up the water. That was a 3 c size cup and purchase a second one that was only a 2cup size. It gives me a 2 once small cup and tha large one gives me a 4oz. So in ending I must say that the Keurig machinhe is a total garbage. I hoping that I can find a better another compagny that takes the K-Cups and works better then these one that i spend over $300.00 for.

Have had two Keurig units...one would only make a 1/2 cup coffee...less than a year old...they sent a new one...second unit not quite 2 years old leaks water all over the counter and therefore does not make a full cup of coffee. This one they charged a reduced price for a new one since it was over a year old. Seems they have quality problems by reading everyone's comments...not sure I would buy another.

I spent an hour doing maintenance on my l l/2 year old Keurig. Descaling light had never lit up until I was half way through the vinegar rinse. Now, it seems I have to unplug my pot every morning before I can get it to work. My son's Keurig also went up after 1 year. Since he was the one that gave me my Keurig for Christmas, I plan to use up all my K cups and go back to a conventional pot-even though they also have their own problems, they cost far less that this Keurig garbage. For those thinking about this method of brewing coffee, get yourself a regular drip pot and save your money.

I tried the compressed air trick and my Keurig works like a dream again. We love this machine and were devastated that it seemingly was garbage. I makes sense though that the water valve will get clogged despite the type of water you use, and because it is such a closed system, it makes it more difficult to clean properly. Thank you for the advice and I am now a Keurig lover once again!!!

Yea someone above commented about the not ready light flashing, that's what ours is doing, and there's no way to turn it off unless you unplug it. The blue light on the side of the tank isn't lit on ours now either. We neglected to change the filter for far too long though, so we thought that was the issue and changed it. Looks like I'll be digging out some paper clips... oh yea, we had ours for like one year,too..

 Spitting Steam

My Keurig spits a short burst of steam about a minute after it has brewed a cup. The force is stong enough to rattle the overflow tray and scare the crap out of anyone standing nearby. Anyone have a solution? I have descaled and only used bottled water.

I tried the compressed air trick then ran several cups of vinegar water through the machine. It works great now. No more water draining back into tank. Thanks for the trick. Have had my machine for 3 years and works like new now.

 trying to find a grommet for my Keurig

We have had mostly good luck with our brewer, a couple of months ago, the rubber part or grommet fell out, I have put it back in, I think the seal is broken or something, since then we don't get a full cup, can't seem to get a replacement part from the company, what to do, what to do

 I fixed my keurig last night

I don;t use my keurig often enough to warrant buying a new one when this one stopped pumping any water. When I turned it on the motor would hum along and finally shoot all the water back into the water reservoir, none into the cup.

I took it apart and did find some gunk in the water intake valve (below the water reservoir) cleaned that out but that didn't help. I tried using a paper clip to slip into the upper and lower needles. That didn't help either (although perhaps these both helped a bit).

What did work was pushing compressed air into the system. This is how I did it. Make sure there is a cup under your keurig to catch the water. I took off the water reservoir. At the top of the reservoir area there is a silicon water valve. I was able to take the long stick off the compressed air and fit the water valve around the nozzle of the spray can to make a tight seal. I then put a towel over the water intake valve at the bottom of the water reservoir area. Hold your finger or thumb over hte towel over this water intake at the bottom otherwise water comes shooting out.

While sealing the water intake I shoot the air into the system. It didn't seem to work at first, I would hold the air on for a good 10 seconds. Had to do this at least a few times, but then water started shoot out into the cup, with little black flecks (possibly pieces of plastic clogging the line? I don't know)

After I cleared the line it works beautifully. This may be something I just do once a year to clear it out, seems to work well...

bought a b44 , its a little over a month old and for the last two days it does not want to pump water. I actually just got it to pump a few minutes ago by taking the water res out and actually jam it back in hard. No box, no receipt, no service. going back to a normal brewer. Too bad our society is so full of junk.

All excited about getting this coffee maker. What a piece of crap. Don't buy this. Just keep using your conventional coffee maker. It's cheaper and the coffee taste good. Very disappointed in Keurig. Taking my back.

i have had mine for about a year and this past weekend it just quit ! did all that was said to get if fixed and still nothing. i do not want to get another one, seems pricey to spend another $200 on a machine that may or may not work.
if i get another one its cause my husband seems to like them... guess we will see if there is a another brand that works better and last more than a year i would love to know

I experienced the same problems everyone described and did all the tricks to get my coffee, but I like to see how things work so I took my machine apart. I found a water valve inside that looked BAD! I typed in the part number and found new ones on ebay for only 8 bucks! I got the part and had it in the machine in 45 minutes! Since I put it back together it's worked like a dream!  Died after ayear

My mother got a B60 last year. After she had it a month I got one for my house. A little more than 1 year later hers died and she went out and bought a new one. Almost exactly one month after that mine died. I called tech support and went through all the recommended fixes. Was able to limp along with the paperclip for a couple of months and 1/2 cups of coffee for a couple of months but this morning it died altogether.

Find it fishy that so many people have them die at about 13 months. Design flaw or planned failure? Either way I don't want to spend over $100+ for something that will only last a year. Will miss the convenience but I'm going to look for something a bit more reliable.

Shame on Keurig for such shoddy design.

Our first Keurig lasted about 7 months before it stopped working. We were using water from our tap that was filtered through a PUR filter so I assumed it was scale buildup & purchased the DEZCAL product. After running through 2 packs of de-scaler, the Keurig still would not pump water. I no longer had the box, and had not seen anything helpful on their website, so I (sadly) tossed the machine out. Following Christmas we get the "top of the line" Cuisinart Keurig for $200 thinking that it is a better built machine. And we have only used bottled water, but alas, here we are again with a Keurig that refuses to pump water. I read one post that sometimes a bubble is in the line so tip the unit to remove any bubbles (tried this but no improvement).I rarely EVER removed the tank, I use a cup to pour the water in - trust me after the first one broke & that money got tossed & then we dumped another $200 into a new machine, I did EVERYTHING that I know to take care of it. Between the cost of having to replace the units after less than a year, paying premium for the individual coffee pods,and buying bottled water just for the machine - it is a very expensive way to have coffee at home. When I look at Amazon and other places that sell these machines, I see so many folks just LOVE their's, even after a year - Does anyone know if any of the other brands are any better? Thanks!

This is my secnd Kurig and I will not buy another what a waste of money and time. I thought maybe the first one was just a lemon so I got another "BIG MISTAKE" this one works no better. I've tried all the above and use distilled water what else can we do about this company selling bad product? I let everyone I know what a problem this is.

 Keurig shuts off after making one cup, pump is noisy.

I noticed that my Keurig model B77's pump was making noise and seemed to be working hard to draw water from the resevior tank. After making one cup of coffee or hot water it would shut off automatically no matter what the time settings and auto shut off were set at. When I took the bottom of the Keurig off I noticed debris in the plastic filter that is located where the pump draws water from the external resevior tank. The only way to clean this filter is to remove the bottom of the coffee maker, unscrew the filter housing and remove the filter from the rubber retainer. Clean the debris, replace the filter and screw the housing back in place. My Keurig is working as good as new and is no longer turning off after one/partial cup that's made. I believe the pump was getting too hot while trying to draw water and the coffee maker was shutting down to protect the pump.

We bought a Keurig B60 a couple yrs ago and since then continue to have slow flow and 'short cup' brew problems. We clean needles, descale, flush and make sure hoses and other parts are all clear of obstructions, and maintain regularly per the manual to no avail. We're now reading on several blogs and websites to flip it upside down and smack it. Really?? It's obviously a pump priming, vapor lock, or pressure issue. Is there a technical fix to this very well documented problem? I'm sure there has been many trouble tickets submitted on it. Thanks

I have been dealing with a failing Keurig for a week now. Descaled numerous times, turned on and off off and on, changed water, used the paper clip clearing procedure recommended by others like myself. Opened the bottom of the machine. It has a mind of its own. Works now, will not work later. Water recycles back to the tank. Where is the technical support from Keurig? One would think they would post recommended fixes. I do not expect anything to work forever however failing after several hundred cups of coffee is not acceptable. I am taking it back to Walmart with copies of other complaints and asking for a refund or a replacement.

I have had two Keurig and really do love the convenience of making one cup at a time but both coffee makers have failed after using them for one year or more. I jumped through all the hoops of descaling and using the paper clip - still poor production. Now the second one has stopped drawing water to dispense. There must be a design flaw that is programed to fail after a year.

So we got one as a wedding present. After one year water began to leak all around the cup every time we brewed a cup of coffee. We followed all the advice about the paper clip descaling etc. Called their customer service and asked for a new gasket and k cup holder. They were very polite and said 7 to 10 days. 10 days later.....We were told it went out by fedex but they can't give us a tracking Buber because it comes from their warehouse. Several more phone calls and we are told by three different people it went out last wed. Then we are told we have an old model so they are trying to relocate the part because it is very hard to find. When iI ask why we were told by three different people it had shipped a week ago they can't explain because we don't have an online account. Finally demand to speak to a supervisor who tells us it shipped to our address but fedex lost the order! Fedex has never lost an order and We have lived here for 35 years. But they are sending another one from their warehouse and we shoul have it in 7to 10 days. What a bunch of shit!

Our B60 Keurig has the Not Ready message flashing and nothing I do can shut it off. Neither the Off or the Menu button will not work. Also the tiny blue light at the base of the reservoir is not lit. Help.....

Have two Keurigs and both have died, even after keeping the paperclip handy to clean the outlet spout. There is a design problem somewhere, guess we go back to the old way, but it was an expensive lesson.

Bought a keurig mini from the store this weekend and it did not work from the beginning. Followed all of the directions but the water will not heat for brewing. Red light continues to flash until the machine shuts off. Returned the unit and brought home another same thing is happening. Is this a lemon....

 Shorted For The last Time

I have been shorted 2-3 boxs of coffee the last several orders from Keurig. Have sent several emails and never a response. Very poor customer service. My advice is to stay away from Keurig all togeather.

 One year Warantee is not enough

Both my daughter and I had to buy new Keurigs after one year. With the second ones, we switched to bottled spring water. One year later and hers is not working again. We've done all the descaling and poking with a paper clip; not helping. I'm thinking those "thin tubes" need to be replaceable. I want a Jura!

Mine started acting up (taking water in and not brewing) from the first day I had it, and I use filtered water from a reverse osmossis system (that just had the filter changed a week before the Kerig arrived), so there is no scaling or clogging in the exit needle (or anywhere else in the unit). It's been almost a month and sadly, it's going to be returned to Costco tomorrow...

I have had my keurig coffee maker that I paid almost 200.00 for 1 year. It constantly turns on and off, doesn't fill more than 4 ounces into cup and takes forever to brew even one cup!!! I have gone back to my old coffee maker.

 Not ready fix

I'm not a coffee drinker, I am a bio-medical technician. A nurse asked me to repair a coffee maker with the "not ready" message. I used a 60 cc syringe and a peice of sterile dialysis blood tubing to force air through the tank overflow, and the message cleared. Alert nurses are more effective, coffee is a necessity for them.
