Keurig B70 Coffee Machine Failures

We have owned 3 Keurig B70 coffee makers.

Now the first failed after about a year which the company gladly replaced Very promptly.

The second failed after about a year and a half and when I called the company they told me it was out of warranty but would give me a discount on a new quiet brew Keurig B70. I asked if it would last any longer than the previous ones and I was concerned about spending anymore money on a coffee maker that fails so quickly . At that point she asked to put me on hold and returned telling me they would honor again the warranty and send another free.

All in all they are a VERY GOOD company to deal with but it would be nice if they could figure out why they fail .

solenoid valve issue
by: Anonymous

The main mode of failue is the two pneumatic solenoid valves "SH-V0828" that are used inside the machine.. This valve is designed for automotive use - seat air cushons and they feature a 1cc/min at 4pis leak rate on the compresser side of the valve..
Keurig flows mostly air BUT water and water vapor will get in the valve and leak - drip internally and also cause large ammount of RUST in the valve.. It is an AIR Valve not designed for water..
This is a food qualified machine using non food solenoid parts.. SUCKS
It is built to fail....

Keurig line is garbage
by: POd User

Three strikes and you are out. Bought the uber expensive platinum only to have it fail after a couple of weeks of heavy use (New toy, kids liked hot chocolate) customer service was pathetic and exchange was difficult (store policy and Keurig policy) Got second one through store and like clockwork it failed in 2 weeks. Third try acted up in 3 weeks and failed completely within 3 months. Now store and Keurig wants nothing to do with me and I have an expensive unrepairable paperweight.
Two other keurigs failed at work and two others failed with friends. Basically the whole line is an expensive piece of c***

try this, it worked for me
by: mriojas229

i've read that these coffemakers have a thin water tube so that may be why it has more problems than other brands of coffeemakers.
as best as i could figure, water flowing back into the resevoir apparently was being caused by the thin water tube being PARTIALLY obstructed by something (most likely a small bit of calcium)so here's what i decided to try: i removed the resevior and grabbed a rubber tube from my tool box. i put the tube over the hole that allows the water to flow into the coffee machine making sure that i had a good seal and blew hard into the other end several times. ADVISORY: when i blew into the tube, a little water came out from the little white relieve spout at the top of the coffee maker so you will make a small mess.) i put the water resevoir back on and tried making a cup of coffee and it worked again!
keurig needs to improve the design of their coffee makers since water flowing back into the resevoir is a long known problem to them.

6th B70

Started my 6th B70 today. All previuos 5 B70's had pump failure during warranty. While all replaced at no charge, their QA is in the dark ages.

Electronics went haywire
by: Anonymous

I've owned my B70 for 22 months. Shortly after making a cup of Hazelnut, and leaving the kitchen area, the machine started pumping water all over my counter top and floor. The LCD display was flashing menus at breakneck speeds. I tried to turn it off via the switch but it was unresponsive. Unplugging it was the only way to stop it. I may buy another but not until I get a response from Keurig as to the possible reason for failure.
Prior to this I had no complaints or concerns.

B40 Keurig Owner
by: Anonymous

It appears that most keurig users are disappointd. Disappointed because the concept is second to none but the workmanship is none. It is very annoying to have to literaly beg for a cup to dispense, just one please. Since purchasing my machine I have had exactly the same problem taht other owners are stating. At the current rate of quality, the machine should have a lifetime warranty.

Two of mine failed
by: Anonymous

My second one just failed after 10 months of use, about the same amount of time the first one lasted. They use a German name, but they are made in China, so it's no wonder. I'll try to return them both to Bed Bath & Beyond... if they replace them then fine. Otherwise this is my last one.

The Chinese really have us over a barrel now, don't they?

Fixed
by: Anonymous

Our machine has failed to brew many times. The cleaning mentioned in the manuel does not help.

I believe it was a vapor lock. To correct this problem, I unplug the machine, remove the water container. Then holding the machine over the sink I tipped it first to the right and then to the left. You will notice water comming from the little white tube that goes into the top of the water container. I then plug the machine in, replace the water container and press the on button. Each of four failures were fixed with this method.

On Third...still not working
by: Durand Michigan

I purchased mine at Bed Bath and Beyond. They gladly make exchanges. But, this is number three and it still does not work. It shuts off on its own, or just does not dispense coffee. It has been a nightmare. I need to go to something else.

Keurig B70 failure
by: Bob

I am on my 3rd B70. It suffers from the same symptons as the others in that the pump does not work, then the unit shuts off. Keurig has replaced them so far.

Keurig B60 only lasts about a year
by: Anonymous

I have 2 keurig B60 coffee machines, one for home and one for the office. After 9 months one of them broke and was replaced. Now the other one is breaking on its 11th month.
Yes, why do these wonderful machines always fail ?????
Very disappointing.
