NO HELP FROM KEURIG
by: Anonymous

This company will NOT acknowledge it has a problem with the inserts for brewing your own coffee. You have mentioned some of the problems and I have called the company 4 times for weak cups, water at the end, grounds, overflow, .... They had no record of my previous calls. And they seem to script their answers indicating that they don't choose to educate their staff but employ automatons who do not 'know' anything about the machines, but only have scripts to read. The rubber gasket keeps slipping back up, but works better if lowered every time?!?!?!? So as you say-Kcups only or just take it back-maybe if people did that they'd listen.

Water Leak Using Ground Coffee Adapter
by: Anonymous

I had water leak around top of adapter holder--fixed it by pulling rubber donut gasket around water pipe down 1/8 inch. Guess Keurig doesn't ID this fix in their manual or website becuz they want to sell more K-cups, right???

MAKING REGULAR COFFEE
by: Anonymous

Making regular coffee is easy once you get it mastered. YOu can not fill the dipenser to the top need to leave room or you will end up with grounds in your cup and a mess to clean. Hope that helped!

Love my own brew
by: Anonymous

We always brew our own coffee and have had our Keurig for 2 years with no problems. You do have to use coarse grind coffee and really clean the gold filter well or it stops up and don't fill it over full. Close the top firmly but not too tight. We love it and disagree that the k-cups are better. We buy our coffee from a local roaster and it is 100 times better than any k-cups. I find most k-cups too weak (and too expensive) but I use them when I have company because they are fast and easy!

K-Cup leaking problem
by: Anonymous

Had the same problem with our new Keurig Brewer.
Moved the upper needle gasket down about 1/8 of an inch and the problem was resolved. we use a relatively fine grin and the coffee now tastes as good as from a conventional type coffee brewer

How to trouble shoot my k cup issues
by: Anonymous

OK heres the low down... If you are having trouble with the my kcup (Grey funnel type thing)

It could be the gasget around the outside of the top needle of your brewer. Turn your brewer off
and open the brewer where the cup goes. look in the top to find the needle.

The K cup Holder (the black funnel peice) is longer than the grey one. You have to remove the k cup holder to use the my Kcup.

The My kcup is shorter. The gasket needs to be adjusted lower on the needle (towards the pointy end) in order for it to properly cover the opening in the lid of the my kcup.
so the water will not splash out. Also use a courser ground and do not over fill your my k cup with coffee. Do not use fine ground coffee. It will not work with lose tea leaves either.

Coffee spills out
by: Anonymous

I'm having the same problem as the privious person. I have the refill container and when the water goes threw the filter it comes out the top of the filter and pours out of the pot like a waterfall. I was wondering if my pot was broken . I have the special edition Keurig.I did read somewhere that if you have hard water its harder for the water to go threw the filter fast enough (I live in Vegas)so could that be the issue??

Love the k-CUP REG. COFFEE
by: Anonymous

You need to use Coarse Ground Coffee and you will have no issues. I never buy the pods, they are too expensive, and this way you can use your own coffee and make it to the strength you want! Love it!

Using external basket
by: Anonymous

I had a similar problem, but then added a O-ring around the basket to hold it up tight to the top of the Kerig, so the rubber seal sat tight around the hole. Problem solved. A large rubber band doubled was my first o-ring until I could get to the store... Wrapped it around the base and then slid it up to the lip...

no luck making my own coffee

I also have the external basket. Most of the water runs out and around the basket rather than through it. Does anyone else have this problem?

K -Cup???
by: Shel

Betty,
I assume you are speaking of the external K-Cup accessory for the Keurig. First of all that cup will never produce the same quality coffee as an original pre packeged K-cup. Just take your mesh filter basket and scoop your choice of coffee into it, just a hair from the top. Do not pack it down. Make sure your top is put on secure but not over tight. Take out the k-cup holder from your brewer and replace it with your optional coffee and holder. Then just brew as you normally would.
Hope this helps...
