Hamilton Beach Brewmaster coffee maker

by KS
(VA, USA )

I own the Hamilton Beach Brewmaster coffee maker. This is the second model I have owned in two years. I was disappointed that the first one started leaking excessively and had to be disposed of, however, I really liked it. I felt that the $30 price tag was a bit much for a coffee maker that only lasted about a year, but I figured that one may have been a "lemon". I bought another, and have yet to run into problems.

I even bought one for my father-in-law as a gift and he loves it. This coffeemaker makes 12 cups supposedly, but they must be seriously small cups. I think a realistic number is about 6 real cups of coffee per brew. I like that it dispenses each cup individually and I like that it is easy to clean.

The coffee always stays fresh with the internal warmer and making coffee is very easy. The coffeemaker comes with a measuring spoon making it easy to make a perfect cup of coffee.

The manufacturer recommends cleaning with a special cleaning product (a sample is included). I think vinegar works just as well and cost less, not to mention putting chemicals through your coffeemaker! Overall, I do recommend this purchase and I'm happy with the product.

Burned taste NEW
by: SS

From day one, this coffee pot makes coffee that tastes burned.
Some mornings it is worse than others. We cleaned it with
vinegar, tried to find out what was burning, no luck. It is the worse coffee pot we have ever had.

Dispensing coffee
by: Anonymous

Why does the coffee come out in such a small stream. It takes forever to fill a cup. I have cleaned the pot with vinegar, lime away and still the stream is very small.

On my second "leaker"
by: Anonymous

I also had a Brewmaster for a few years when it started to leak. I bought my replacement coffee maker in December. It is already leaking in the exact same way.

I am very disappointed, as I think it makes great coffee, and like the convenience of not having a pot. But now that the second one is leaking I am not going to risk buying another one.

Hamilton Beach Brewstation

Horrible functionality.
Using Coffee Tank to pour water into Water reservoir, as suggested, is awkward and causes many spills. Use a separate pitcher to pour in the water.
When emptying the last cup of coffee there is always a drizzling spill.
DO NOT BUY, or you'll be sorry

leaky coffee pot
by: Rose S

This is my third Hamilton Beach Brew Master Coffee pot, and I love the idea of not have a glass pot, and an automatic pour station, but it leaks something terrible. I thought the first one was a fluke and bought another one - - the second one was equally disappointing; so being the dye-hard dummy that I am, I bought another one - - and whatdo'ya know? It leaks. I have to a supply of paper towels handy every time I pour a cup of coffee. It makes a terrible mess. This has to be a design flaw that wasn't picked up in the testing lab. I won't be buying another one. I'm not that dumb.

LOVE IT!!
by: Pat

I have had my brewmaster for several years... I am in love with it! this is the second one, the only reason we got a new model is because it worked for taller "to-go" cups... never had a problem.

doesnt work
by: Anonymous

I received a Hamilton Beach Brewmaster for Xmas, and after 1 month, it stopped working. There was still waster in it, it would work for a bit, then stop. I have to shut if off, then turn it on again, and then it works for a bit more. Totally disappointed in the product, only worked properly for one month.

12 cup BrewMaster
by: Anonymous

We are on our third BrewMaster in 8 years, and my husband wants to buy another in the New Year.
I think that for the big price tag, (at least $70.00 Can.), I would rather get something else which may be cheaper and last longer.
Amazing coffeemaker, big price tag, and has to be replaced too often.

Great...When it works
by: Anonymous

I've gone through two of these in 5 years. When it works it works great...easy to load, easy to use, easy to clean...much better than having a glass carafe where the coffee sits and gets bitter. Never had any leaking issues, and yes it does make 12 "cups"...that's 4 oz. cups..so I uausally make about 10 cups each time I use it to get 2-3 real cups of coffee.

However...I am now using a french press at home....why? Am I a coffee snob? Am I euro trash? Am I Trying to save the planet? NO to all the above.

My second Brewmaster just dies a week ago...just stopped working for no reason. This is the second time this has happened with this model. It is relatively chap but I's like for something that lasts longer..so I use a french press...and the coffee is better, although less convenient to use.

Like it, but it needs to be replaced.
by: Anonymous

I too have a Hamilton brewmaster. After four years it's starting to leak also. I'd like to purchase a new one, or maybe ask for it as a gift for Christmas.

Leaking coffee maker
by: Anonymous

All three of the Brewmaster coffee makers my son gave as Christmas gifts (2 years ago) leak. One started almost immediately - the other two a little later. All are still brewing coffee each morning but are making a real mess on the counter tops. Does it have something to do with the rubber gasket at the spout (and can it be replaced) or is the coffee maker ready to be replaced? Comment please.

Quality
by: Anonymous

I just purchased the 10 cup Hamilton Beach Brewmaster. I just finished cleaning and getting ready for its first use. I am going to return the product since the machine needs to be held from moving while pushing the coffee dispenser, filling your coffee cup. The machine is not built heavy enough. Not a quality product in my opinion.

Hamilton Beach Coffee Maker
by: Anonymous

We purchased the 10-cup version a week ago. Yes, it is easier to make coffee without the glass carafe... I don't think this product makes the coffee hot enough and the internal heating element certainly does not keep the coffee hot enough for my taste. I have to microwave each cup (this may be beecause I put milk from the frig). There seems to be a plastic taste to the coffee because it sits in the plastic resevoir.
