Gevalia Coffee Maker - CM-500 B

Our coffee maker that we currently use is a Gevalia coffee maker model CM-500 B. It is Stainless steel and black with a very attractive design.
It makes up to 12 cups of coffee at a time. We got it for free when we joined the Gevalia coffee club a few years ago.
We have only used it a few months off and on because it has a design flaw that is annoying to me. The water level rises much more slowly than the filling from our pull out faucet. I love using the faucet to fill the coffee maker, but the plastic ball rises so slowly that you have to wait a bit to see if you have the right amount of water for the amount of coffee you want to make. Taking water out is a messy undertaking, so it takes a bit more time and effort than I prefer to put in. It is really just an irritant though, anyone who fills the coffee maker by using the carafe would not have this problem.Although the carafe is not marked with measurements, so you’d be guessing there as well.
The coffee made is delicious and very hot. Our last coffee machine did not put out coffee this hot, which is a bonus for my husband, since he loves it to be straw melting hot! I like the cone filters this machine uses and it is very easy to clean.
Our last coffee maker was Black and Decker and had to be replaced twice under warranty. It had a design flaw that it suddenly stopped making coffee. That was a major headache! So we will stick with the Gevalia coffee maker, until we find something better.
