I purchased a 12 cup digital GE coffee maker from Wal-Mart in early January. I paid $30 for it and the other morning I got up to have coffee and the coffee maker did not work. I was very disappointed as I thought this was a good coffee maker. There was power to it but when I turned it on it did nothing.

I had to go out and by another coffee maker that day. I did not keep my receipt or the box it came in when I purchased it as most coffee makers I have last at least a year and then I just purchase another one when they go bad.

GE Perolator not good

My GE Percolator 12 - 1 Pot does not get hot enough to brew the coffee. I use a French Roast whole bean and grind it myself. This pot it Terrible. It is like tea water. Not a good cup of coffee

Can't get repair parts

I purchased a GE 12 cup coffee maker (model 169123) 18 months ago and recently broke the carafe (my fault). When I called the Walmart/GE Customer service number that is listed on coffee maker, in the owner's manual and on the GE repair parts web site (the one that says it's for warranty, parts and accessories), I was told that they do not sell repair parts and couldn't help me.

bad coffee pot

I purchased a 12 cup digital pot from wal mart
aprox 1-1/2 years ago and cannot get a part
thru the parts number given in owners manual.
Think this is unaceptable . know what I have to do now is go purchase a new pot not a G E and not from wal mart

my son bought me a ge coffeepot for christmas 2008 from walmart. it worked for 6 months, trying to return it was a big hassle. don't buy any ge coffeepots. don't waste your money.

Don't know what everyone is talking about

I just wanted to say we are very happy with this coffee maker. We purchased it about a year ago and it is the best appliance in our house. Every morning it is programmed to make 8 cups of coffee at 5:45 and it has without fail.

I clean it each time it is required and it works like a gem after.

I have a GE coffee pot I purchased from Walmart about 5 months ago, It worked for about 2 months and then the plug started messing up. I have replaced one end of it and now the other end has a bad connection. I am having a hard time finding a replacement cord. What a piece of crap this pot is...

GE junk coffee maker

I bought a model 169164 GE coffee maker that was made just for Walmart to sell.. The thing only worked about 6 months and the fuse-able link blow out.. a simple little $2 to $3 part and you can not get a replacement anywhere. When I called walmarts 800 number on coffee maker they told me they do not sell replacement parts... I had to buy a new one.. ya right I will run right out to walmart and buy another piece of junk made in china.. I found an old electric percolator at a yard sale( made in USA) it maybe old but it works great.

I TO BOUGHT A G.E.TWELVE CUP COFFEE MAKER. I ONLY USE IT FOR VISITORS.(SMALLER ONE FOR ME)IT MAKES A LOUD THUMPING NOISE. SOMETIMES IT HEATS BUT JUST WATER.WATER DOESNT GO UP TO COFFEE. READY FOR COFFEE AND HOT WATER. WHAT A BUMMER.

I AGREE WITH ALL THE OTHER COMENTS. I BOUGHT MY GE DIGITAL COFFEE MAKER IN DECEMBER 2008 IT WORKED FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHES THEN DIED ON ME SO I WENT BACK TO WAL MART AND BOUGHT ANOTHER ONE $30.00 AGAIN AND NOW SINCE MARCH ,IT WON'T BREW THE ENTIRE POT OF COFFEE. IT ONLY BREWS ABOUT 1/2 OF THE WATER I PUT IN THEN STOPS DEAD. I THREW AWAY MY RECIEPT AND THE BOX SO NOW I'M JUST STUCK WITH A PIECE OF GARBAGE THAT WON'T WORK AND I AM ALSO OUT $60.00 NOW SINCE I BOUGHT 2 IN THE LAST 6 MONTHES. I THOUGHT GE WAS A DEPENDABLE COMPANY. I GUESS I AM WRONG. THE BIG NAME AND REPUTATION SURE DOESN'T LIVE UP TO IT'S PAST REPUTATION ANY MORE.

It's funny you say that I remember my dad had a coffee maker for the stove top was in 3 pieces and nothing electrical, the top where you pour the water, the middle where you put the coffee and the bottom where the coffee and water drip into. Where can I find one of these lol

GE Coffee Maker Piece of Junk

My husband, too, bought a GE Coffee Maker from Wal Mart around Christmas time just in time for the holidays. It worked fine until the other day when the clean light started to blink. Now, no matter what we do to it, it doesn't work, clean, or heat. Still, the BEST coffee maker is the stove top type that you perk. There are NO mechanical/electrical parts that will fail. Just get back to basics as far as coffee is concerned and you won't go wrong. Perked coffee just tastes better anyway. We had an "antique" stove top percolator for over 25 years and we just replaced it a few months ago as the aluminum mesh began to deteriorate. Just bought a new, stainless steel old fashioned type stove top one. Should last a LONG time.

Piece of junk!!!

I am on my second one, the first one lasted a month and a half then just stopped working. I have tried Black and Decker, Mr. Coffee, and one of Walmart's generic brands and not one of them lasted more then 8 month's. I am also having the same problem with vacuum cleaner's UGH!!! Today they make all this crap so cheap so they keep breaking so you have to run out and BUY another one, I guess they figure if they make them to last 20 years they won't make any money. Years ago I had a Hoover vacuum that lasted almost 20 years because it was made of metal/steel but not today, today they make every thing with the cheapest materials they can find.

Yup me too..on my 2nd one, doesn't work at all...had no receipt the 1st time...They would only exchange for the same item. This time I got the return receipt stapled to the book..they kept the box, so we shall see...i don't want a replacement!

Hey our office bought one of these 12 cup digital coffee makers right before Christmas of 08'. It worked until the cleaning light came on. Well, we followed directions on cleaning but the stupid thing stayed on cleaning for 2 days. We exchanged it for another one just like it since we threw away the receipt. This one lasted for one pot of coffee, then it just wouldn't work anylonger. What's up with that? People work to hard for their money now days to buy something that is new and won't work. Shame on you GE!!

GE and Wal-Marts very poor service

I bought my friend the GE 12 cup coffee pot in Dec 2009 but he did not get it given to him until some time in March because we live in different cities. Within two months it quit working and when he programmed it to go on at 5a.m. for work it did not heat the water and he had luke warm coffee. We took it back to Wal-Mart and they would only do an exchange because the bill showed it being used for more than 30 days. There was no GE in stock so reluctantly they gave him an instore credit. From what I read here I think this coffee pot is a piece of junk. At my home I have used a Quisanart for the past five years and its works like a jiffy. As for Wal-Mart I saw the young clerks tell a client they would reluctantly, "we will do an exchange only this one time as we do not take back food" tell a client they were doing him a favor by taking back a jar of coffee that had a seam very slightly opened. I could see he had not opened it and they made his life miserable! I have decided that I will phone and complain on his service alone. I hope to read other comments here so my friend can get a good coffee pot like mine.
Thanks for reading about Wal-Marts lousy return service.

I also purchased the same coffee maker GE Coffee maker and the same thing happened, it worked fine for about 6 mos.Then went to make a pot of coffee, and it would not come on. I think GE should stand behing this coffee maker. I also bought it at Walmart

I purchsed the GE 12 cup coffee maker Model #169101. It kept stopping during brewing. It took 45 minutes to brew a full pot. Walmart would not give me a replacement. I'm disappointed in GE and Walmart. I guess no one will guarantee anything anymore.

I've had my coffee maker for about 6 months. Got it from walmart also and it has worked just fine until yesterday. I made coffee in it that morning and it worked just great. Later on that day I was going to make more coffee and it didn't have any power to it. It was pluged in. Tried everyting and still won't come on. Don't buy this coffee maker as I have read nothing but bad feedback on it.

I'm 80 yrs old so I had some one take me back to WALMART after calling the 800 number to get a new one. Got home with the new one and the stop drip valve was broke. Called the 877-207-0923 number and was told go back and get a new pot. Why not just send me the little part in the mail. Maybe I'll break my hip on this trip. I'm going to stop using WALMART for anything.
