Cuisinart DCC-1150 BLK
Cuisinart DCC-1150 BLK coffee maker. I am not a huge coffee drinker, but I do require a strong cup the first thing in the morning. This is my first programmable coffee maker, and I love the convenience of having a cup ready when I stumble out of bed.
I’ve been enjoying it for a month now. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for about 3 hours without reducing it to undrinkable sludge. This is the primary reason why I replaced my previous Capresso glass carafe model. I would always forget to turn off the pot and had to clean an awful mess. And often, I do want another cup a couple of hours later without the fuss of making a new pot just for the one cup.
This model turns off immediately when the brew cycle is done so I can brew a few cups worth and enjoy it for hours. As a bonus, I will recoup the cost of the Cuisinart in energy savings in just a year.
My only complaint is that the water reservoir is a little hard to fill. I have to pour in the water left-handed because the fill-lines are on the right and hard to see. I usually spill a little when filling it up. As a warning, my very first two pots had some kind of grainy residue so you may need to soak the charcoal filter a little longer than recommended in the instructions.
This Cuisinart looks great on my countertop, comes with a GoldTone filter, and a charcoal filter for the water. The programming interface is very easy to use. These are great features at a very reasonable price for a 10-cup model.
