Cuisinart Brew Central Coffeemaker, the DCC-1200

by BB

My current coffee maker is the Cuisinart Brew Central Coffeemaker, the DCC-1200 model (black finish, not chrome).

It makes up to twelve cups at a time. (Coffee "cups" = 6 oz. each, so 72 oz. capacity.)

What I like about this model is that brewing is fast, and as long as you don't overload the basket, it is easy to change out the grounds, using a standard Melitta #4 filter.

The main problem I have encountered with this model is that its auto-brew function refuses to stop when I withdraw the pot to pour a cup of coffee before it finishes. In other words, sometimes the just-brewed coffee spills onto the burner, where it sizzles and makes a burnt-coffee odor.
