Cuisinart Brew Central Coffeemaker DCC-1200

I own a Cuisinart Brew Central Coffeemaker,DCC-1200 Series. I bought this machine because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports.

It has an attractive brushed stainless steel finish. This coffeemaker makes 12 cups of coffee. It comes with it's own replaceable water filter. It also has a self clean feature; a button will light when it needs to be cleaned. I have only owned this machine for four months. I use it every day and have not had to change either the water filter or use the cleaning feature yet.

My favorite feature of this coffeemaker is the adjustable hot plate temperature. I do not like my coffee scalding hot and set on low, the temperature is kept just right. I also like the auto shut off feature, which can be programmed to shut off the coffeemaker from one to four hours after brewing.

This machine has a ready signal, a series of beeps, when the coffee is done brewing. I find this feature to be unnecessary, but some may find it useful. The only thing I do not love about this coffeemaker is the lid on the carafe. It snaps on and off at the handle and has to be place just right to get it to snap.

This machine also comes with a gold reusable filter. I did not like the taste of the coffee when using this filter. I switched to the disposable paper filters and that made all the difference.

Overall this is a great coffeemaker, it looks nice and performs very well. My old machine was a basic Mr Cofffee model. It worked fine, but certainly did not have all the features or look of this Cuisinart model. I would recommend this coffeemaker.
