Cuisinart 12-Cup Stainless Steel Grind/Brew Programmable Coffeemaker DGB-700BC

by Rick

While I love the basic functionality of the Cuisinart DGB-700BC coffee maker, it has a HUGE downside.

The instructions say that """"periodic"""" cleaning of the chute from the grinder is needed; in reality it's DAILY. Cuisinart told me that I needed to use less oily (lighter roast) Arabica beans; it made NO difference. So, if you like to fully disassemble the bean 'reservoir' and clean the chute daily do buy it. If you don't clean the chute daily you run the risk of burning out the grinder as it WILL clog and seize up on the next brew cycle.

Horrible coffee maker
by: DT

My first one caught on fire after 11 months. We were home or not sure if we would have a house now. They finally after 5 phone calls agreed to send ne a new one and I did not have to pay shipping & handling both ways for replacement. Now after 11 months during a family funeral the replacement no longer works at all. Will not brew and powers down after 8 minutes. They now want me to pay $20 each way for a replacement and want my original receipt again as they said the 3 years is alnost up! When you receive a replacement it does not start a new warranty!! This is one way for them to get out of responsibility for the coffee maker that should have been recalled to begin with, It is very expensive and lasts approximately 11 months. Almost cheeper to buy coffee out each day! $200 for 11 months plus $40 shipping & handling is very sad!! Their customer service is horrible she argued with me that it was not working and refused to listed when I explained to her the problem. She wanted me to clean it which is impossible as it will not pump water and the electrical parts smell like fire!!

Cuisinart Junk
by: Kelly

I too bought this coffee maker and the vacuuming it every few days is really irritating. But the machine is now 8 months old and the hopper/dispenser is broken and I can't make a cup of coffee. That was my last Cuisinart $229.00 is way tooooooo much for 8 months of coffee.
