Cuisanart Burr Grind and Brew - I wouldn't bother

Ok with Cuisinart Grind and Brew Coffee maker I thought I would be getting the kind of a coffee maker and burr grinder that they use at Starbucks!

And at first it was really great...but then well...you have to clean it very frequently. It gets really messy too. And if you forget or use a coffee that is a little oilier than another and the expensive dark ones tend to be, it will clog it up more, then you are in trouble.

It has this little shoot that has to be cleaned. And it isn't easy to clean. I have come up with my own way of doing it, I empty the top, put all the beans in a bowl, and get a plastic knife, loosen the muck and sweep it into the basket below, but if it isn't all lined up then you end up with all grounds all over the place. So that is the first part....next, we have the newest pain...The machine cannot make a pot of coffee without beeping beeping beeping for about 10 minutes and I read just every little thing. I have cleaned it and done just about everything I can think of. I have no idea why it is doing it but it does it every time we make coffee and we are about to throw it out the window.

We don't have 10 extra minutes every morning to fool with it and figure out why it doesn't want to brew. And I don't know if it is just my coffee maker or all of them. So this is a very expensive machine but if you want to take the chance on this kind of foolishness for a cup of coffee. I wouldn't bother. I wish I had my old Melitta coffee machine back. It made the best coffee in the world!!
