Choosing A Built In Coffee Maker System For Your Home

A Built in coffee maker is a relatively new concept that many people are considered to be a very smart way to utilize space in their home. Most often incorporated when remodeling or full-out construction is taking place, one of these units can end up saving you much-needed space in your kitchen.

A built in coffee maker will fit directly into the wall of your home, removing the need to have a coffee maker sitting on your counter, especially one that will take up a great deal of room.

When designing or remodeling a kitchen, you will want to provide a sense of style and sophistication to the place. This can often mean incorporating a modern look that should allow your kitchen to become more streamlined and will remove unnecessary clutter.

A built in coffee machine system directly into the wall will accomplish this goal by freeing up counter top space and putting more into the walls which often are left bare anyway. It will also make your kitchen seem more fun and exciting to be in.

Who Makes Built-In Coffee Machines?

When you are considering how a built in model can benefit your home, you are going to want to look at specific models to see what they may be able to provide to your home. The brands which typically put forth built in models can include:

  • Miele
  • Bosch
  • Thermodore
  • Electrolux
  • Williams-Sonoma
  • and more!
Choosing the best option from these may come down to the budget that you have available, the space in your wall, and the special features which a built-in coffee maker may provide.

Examining everything that these machines could provide will be important to decide if this is unit that you will actually want to consider.

What Benefits Can a Built In Coffee Maker Bring?

On top of freeing up counter space, a built in coffee maker should be able to perform in a number of different ways that will make your life easier. These could include:

  • The ability to either brew and entire pot or just one cup at a time
  • The elimination of frequently filling the water reservoir
  • Quick-brewing that will prevent waiting around for a cup
  • The ability to conserve on the coffee itself so you are not wasting any
Most of these models are built to include space for a coffee pot as well as individual cups. If, on any particular morning, you are the only person wanting a cup of coffee, you will be able to brew a single cup.

If there are others in the household who enjoy coffee, however, making the entire pot will not be difficult. With the simple press of a button, you will be able to make exactly the amount of coffee you need.

With the unit built into the wall, you will also not need to fill the water reservoir every time that you want to start brewing coffee. The unit will be hooked up directly to a water line, which can pull water whenever the machine itself starts to brew.

This will eliminate any of the work that you are going to need to put into brewing coffee, allowing you to simply press a few buttons, load the coffee grounds, and have coffee delivered instantly!

The ability to switch between an entire pot or a single cup of coffee is not something that many machines are able to provide. This should give you a chance to only use the coffee you need and not be wasteful.

One of the biggest problems with traditional coffee makers is that you may never drink a full pot and you end up dumping the rest. You may drink more than just one cup, though, so a single serving coffee maker can be annoying. The built in coffee maker will solve those problems for you.

Putting a Built-In Coffee Maker Into Your Home

With the construction needed to make this coffee machine work properly, you may need to hire someone to install the unit for you. They will be able to hook this machine up to the electricity it will need to operate along with the water line that can keep the machine supplied with all of the water needed. This will make sure that you have no problems in the future with the way this model operates.

It may be easiest to include this type of coffee machine when you are performing remodeling or are building a home or apartment from scratch. With the wall already being down to arrange for the hard wiring and other tasks, you can easily make sure this unit is installed without problems.

Otherwise, you will need to hire a contractor to make sure that everything is properly arranged for when you decide to have one of these units installed.

Affording a Built In Coffee Maker

This is going to be a major purchase, with built in coffee makers typically costing a few thousand dollars. This is because the hard wiring which is required will make sure that this machine will not need to be serviced. If problems do arise, you will need to remove the unit from the wall to be able to fix it. This can end up being rather expensive.

There are some models of a built in coffee maker which are much smaller, brewing only a few cups of coffee at a time. One of these units may only cost a few hundred dollars, not counting installation.

This could prove to be a more affordable option when you want the convenience but do not have the money for one of the more typical built in coffee maker models.
