Braun 12 Cup Automatic Coffee Maker KF180

I purchased my Braun 12 cup automatic coffe maker KF180 about two years ago. It has always made a good pot of coffee, good strength and good temperature. I purchased a Braun because my previous coffe maker was a Braun and I got 7 years of great service from it making two pots a day every day. My current model is a bit less fancy but I didn't think the "bells and whistles "would matter that much. From the beginning I realized more coffee was required to get the same robust flavor as before but this was not significant.

The problem is that after only two years it developed a leak somewhere within the machine. At first there would just be a little water under the machine which didn't affect my coffee quality a whole lot so I didn't pay too much attention to it. Within a couple of more weeks, however, the display in front was full of water and the pot stopped working, leaving almost the whole pot of water in a pool on my counter. Several days later, as a last ditch effort before throwing it out, I tried it one more time. It worked! So, for now, I make sure I unplug it when not in use and I put it out in the sun to dry every few days. Seems like it will suffice till I can afford a new one but WHAT A DISSAPPOINTMENT for a coffee pot I thought would last at least 5 years. So, quality of coffe is very good but if your looking for longevity steer clear of the Braun KF180 Coffee maker.
