Bodum CHAMBORD french press coffee maker

The coffee maker that we use is a Bodum CHAMBORD french press coffee maker. It works actually very well. its simple to use, easy to clean, diswasher safe, and best of all makes a good cup of coffee that i can control the strength of.

The one that i have has an 8 cup capacity. The markings on the side of it make making the perfect cup of coffee easy and simple all you have to do is put the coffee grinds in it, put the boiling water in it, and let it sit. once its brewed to your liking push down the plunger to strain the grinds from the coffee.

The only issue with this coffee maker is that you have to be very carefull about how you grind the beans. You must use course grinds otherwise it will get clogged up in the screen used for straining, and could potentially leak through the screen into your coffee.

These coffee makers are fairly solid units but care must be taken as to not drop it on a hard surface as the glass can break. Also the screens do need to be periodically replaced they can get holes in them overtime and wear out making the coffee have more grinds when you drink it.

I bought this model because it was simple, easy to use, and because when i was in college we were not allowed to have a hot plate, but we could go to the community room to use a stove, so i needed a coffee maker that didnt have an electric heating element. This is perfect for students.

I have owned this for over 5 years and it has never once delivered a bad cup of coffee. the previous coffee maker i had couldnt compare to this one, it was not nearly as consistent even though it was electric.
