Affordable Kitchen Gourmet

One of the big problems I have with coffee makers is my own fault. I tend to crack the glass pot, especially when I wash it.
I try to be careful, but often it does not take much to crack the pot. I once dropped a fork into the hot water, and you guessed it: I needed another pot.
As an inveterate coffee drinker, I have my maker working all day long, and I wash it several times per day. So, my tendency to be hard on the coffee maker has led me to purchase less expensive models.
In fact, lately I have gone to the local pharmacy where they have small appliances. My selection has been poor, and I usually get something called The Kitchen Gourmet.
It is inexpensive, and it won’t last long. But the price is right. Over the years I have damaged and rendered useless the truly expensive coffee makers I have purchased.
Since I live alone, I don’t need ten cups or twelve cups. That usually means that coffee goes to waste. The maker I have is supposed to allow four cups, but I drink from large mugs.
It usually gives me one large mug. Later, I will make another pot. I once purchased one of the one-cup models, with an insulated mug.
These had the advantage of a cover and could actually be taken into the car during the morning commute. Of course, I lost the cover one day at work, and another time I left the cup at work. You guessed it.
I really did not have another large mug that fit exactly into the coffee maker. And, that model just stopped working in a month or two.
If you try to mix and match filters and pots with differing models, you will find nothing is compatible. Oh, well, I suppose that means I will be buying another coffee maker one of these days.
